Schmece is the pairing of Schm/idt and Ce/ce.

Schmidt and Cece met in the Pilot episode. Schmidt was attracted to Cece when the guys interviewed her. In Cece Crashes, Schmidt kept trying to make Cece really notice him and get interested in him to seal the deal. Cece didn't seem to have much interest in him, though. While Cece stayed at the loft, she slept in Schmidt's bed. Schmidt couldn't sleep on the couch because his sunburn was bad, so Cece let him in the bed, too. They both said they hated sleeping alone and Cece held his hand, quickly afterward stating that if he told anyone they held hands, she had two people in her contacts that would kill him. Literally.

In Thanksgiving, Cece got Schmidt mad because she helped him cook dinner, noticing how much of a germaphobe he was. She smeared mashed potatoes on his nose and he screamed "No! Where in this book does it say 'Put mashed potatoes on Schmidt's nose'? Huh?" and Cece got attracted to how angry he got.

In Valentine's day, Schmidt was looking for someone to bring home, and Cece tried to make a girl he saw want him, by leaning up against him and looking him in the eyes. At the end of it Cece and Schmidt are shown in his bedroom. She tells him not to tell anyone they're sleeping together. This starts the secrets they keep while they frequently sleep together.
