Principal Foster is Jess Day’s former boss & friend in the FOX comedy New Girl. He is played by Curtis Armstrong.
Character[]
Principal Foster was the principal of Coolidge Middle School where Jess worked at in seasons 2-4. Jess was a English teacher there when he promoted her to Vice Prinicpal for her hard work and efforts. Later on in the episode Jury Duty, Foster breaks his hip whlist covering for Jess in an activity day at the school, and Jess has the chance to become acting princpal but can't due to jury duty. After his hip injury, he later retires and is replaced by Becky Cavatappi. Jess also quits her role as vice-principal.
He reappears in Single and Sufficient, where he is apart of Jess and Robby's singles-only club. It is later disbanded when Robby admits his feelings for Jess.
His last appearance is in the series finale Engram Pattersky where him and the biology teacher help Winston slide the eviction notices under the loft door.

- In Single and Sufficient, although he retired from Coolidge, he is still referred to as Principal Foster.
