Bonnie is the mother of Nick and wife of the late Walt Miller. During Walt's funeral and the days of preparation in Chicago, she meets Jess for the first time and did not like her very much. However, after Jess helped make the funeral lighter for everyone, Bonnie began to like Jess and even told Nick how happy she was that she had someone like Jess to look after him.
